I spent the Memorial Day weekend at Tamarack Resort, about 20 miles south of McCall, with my old high school buddies. This is the upscale cabin we stayed in. |

Here is the gang: starting top left going clockwise -- Dale, Stan, Me, Pete, Jeff, Jack.

The resort has a really nice frisbee golf course set in the woods. The weather this weekend was absolutely perfect, and the woods were spectacular. Everything was incredibly green and bright. We had so much being outside that we ended up playing five rounds of frisbee golf over the four days.
The picture doesn't capture how scenic the meadows were.

Walking through a field of wild daisies. Again, the picture doesn't capture how stunning it was, especially late afternoon when the sun lit everything up.
This is probably the fifth time I've been to Tamarack Resort. Pete was the one who discovered it and actually lived up here for a few years. It's about 90 miles north of Boise. Tamarack Resort has an interesting history.
Below is what used to be a Robert Trent Jones II signature 18-hole golf course, whiched opened in 2006. We played it a few times on my earlier visits. But it closed in 2015 and now you can hardly tell it ever was a golf course. But the asphalt golf cart paths remain and are a nice, scenic walk.

Heading off to walk the golf course. The old putting green is to the right.
This is what an abandoned golf course looks like. It doesn't take nature long to reclaim the land.
Looking back at the big Lodge which is open and where you can stay. The golf course pro shop used to be on the first level.
Stan the man, with Cascade Reservoir in the background.

Looking at "The Village". For all of my previous visits, The Village was unfinished since the resort project had stalled out and the owners had declared bancrupcy. We called it the Tyvek building, since it was covered in the Tyvek synthetic material used to protect buildings during construction. But on this visit, we were amazed that The Village was completed, and even had multiple restaurants open on the ground floor. Tamarack is also a ski resort in winter, as you can see. |

Back on the frisbee golf course.

Trudging through the meadow filled with wild daisies.
An estate home overlooking Cascade Reservoir.
We rented a pontoon boat for an afternoon and had a good time cruising Cascade Reservoir. The fish weren't biting though.
Captain Stan.

Pete, the man who organized the trip.
Group picture! We had a great extended weekend. The weather was perfect, the scenery spectacular, we ate well, drank too much, and told the same stories we've all heard a thousand times -- and they're always good.
